Campers solidify their understanding of the concept of place value using real beans. They proceed to addition and subtraction, with and without regrouping, using proprietary MathTree® templates. To be sure your child is ready for Bean Counting 201, please consider the following statements:

My child knows addition facts from 1 + 1 to 9 + 9 well.
My child has not mastered regrouping (also called borrowing and carrying) when adding or subtracting numbers with two digits or more.

Both should be true.

Rising 2nd graders or equivalent; campers must have fluent knowledge of basic addition facts
